Snow is a rare occurrence in London; so when it began to fall in the evening last night I got extremely excited to have the opportunity to see it!
I come from a part of the world where snow is very much a part of life in winter, and I admit that I was missing it after 8 months in England. I certainly had not expected to see it again this soon in London.
There is something magical about snow fall in a city like London. Everyone seems to stop for a moment and enjoy the snow (or share a complaint about the snow) but it does manage to bring people together. We had a beautiful snow storm start on Friday and continue through Sunday here in London, depositing about 2 inches of accumulated snow in the city and coating everything. I love snow, so I naturally spent most of the weekend walking about nearby Hyde Park and enjoying all the gifts of the storm.
